Business Development Representative

Role Overview:

We are seeking a driven, proactive, and personable sales professional to help expand our customer base across Canada and the U.S. If you are driven by new opportunities, motivated by building relationships from scratch, and eager to grow business, this role is for you.

We’re seeking a seasoned, strategic-minded business development executive with 3–5 years of freight forwarding sales experience and a proven record of growing accounts and winning new business. This role is ideal for a rep who has “tasted success”—someone who can point to key accounts they helped build or transform and is still hungry to grow their book.

You won’t be assigned existing accounts. You will be responsible for acquiring net-new clients across Canada, the U.S., and key international markets. You’ll be expected to operate independently, using both confidence and experience to drive outbound prospecting, close deals, and build long-term relationships.

Once a new client is onboarded, Operations and Customer Support teams will assist with day-to-day service, freeing you up to focus on what you do best: sell.

Position Objectives:

  • Acquire new clients through proactive outreach and relationship building.

  • Engage in consultative selling to tailor solutions to client needs.

  • Manage a qualified sales pipeline aligned with growth priorities.

  • Drive revenue through consistent new business wins.

  • Convert prospects into long-term clients by clearly communicating differentiators.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Pricing, Commercial, Leadership) to win and grow accounts.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A salesperson who has already experienced real success—and can explain how they achieved it.

  • Someone who has built strong relationships and managed key accounts in logistics or freight.

  • A confident outbound seller who thrives in a consultative sales environment.

  • Capable of identifying what tools and support they need to succeed—and clearly vocalizing it.

  • Motivated, entrepreneurial, and still hungry to build something bigger.

Ideal Profile:

  • 3 to 5 years of B2B freight forwarding or logistics sales experience.

  • Solid understanding of both air and ocean freight services.

  • Proven track record of success in a freight or supply chain sales role.

  • Demonstrated ability to win new business and manage long sales cycles.

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communicator and relationship-builder.

  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage and prioritize independently.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability/willingness to travel locally or abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in priority trade lanes and sectors.

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads using a strategic, consultative approach.

  • Deliver compelling proposals and presentations with support from Pricing and Commercial teams.

  • Lead the full sales cycle—from cold outreach through onboarding handoff.

  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and strategic forums.

  • Collaborate with leadership on sales strategy, market segmentation, and outreach campaigns.

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales and GP targets through new customer acquisition.

  • Seamlessly hand off new clients to Customer Support for retention, staying connected but focused on hunting.
