Role Overview
As a key member of the executive team, the Vice President, Business Development, is responsible for driving global revenue growth for StablePay, a bank-grade, POS-native stablecoin acceptance network. This network allows merchants to accept any major stablecoin online and at the Point of Sale (POS) while settling into a single, yield-bearing USD balance with instant, low-fee, compliant treasury and fiat off-ramps.
This executive will build and scale strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, and distribution channels to position StablePay as the universal stablecoin acceptance layer for merchants and financial partners worldwide. The role focuses on commercializing the platform across physical retail, e-commerce, and QR-based payments, with an emphasis on driving adoption of the "pay with any stablecoin" value proposition and growing processing volume and off-ramp flows in over 70 countries.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Strategic BD: Drive merchant and distribution partner adoption (gateways, processors, and e-commerce platforms) of a global stablecoin acceptance network.
Growth Targets: Meet and exceed processing volume, revenue, and active merchant targets, focusing on sub-1% processing economics to displace traditional 3–4% card rails.
Go-to-Market Execution: Develop strategies with acquirers, PSPs, ISVs, and banks to embed the POS-native stablecoin rail across physical and digital retail.
Commercial Modeling: Structure models that maximize yield-bearing balances, including incentives for merchants to hold, auto-convert to USD, or off-ramp to local fiat.
Relationship Management: Build and manage deep integrations with banks, payment networks, and stablecoin issuers to extend coverage and fiat off-ramp capabilities in 70+ countries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering to prioritize features that enhance merchant economics (e.g., no chargebacks, instant final settlement) and reduce technical complexity.
Financial Strategy: Create financial models, commercial cases, and board-level materials to evaluate partnership opportunities and new market launches.
Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development team focused on merchant acquisition and enterprise accounts.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, corporate development, or enterprise sales, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in payments, fintech, or merchant acquiring, with a track record of building financial rails at scale.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of POS systems, online payment flows, and interchange economics, with the ability to articulate the value of instant settlement and lower fees.
Digital Asset Proficiency: Familiarity with stablecoins, digital assets, and banking partnerships, including cross-border treasury and compliance considerations.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, negotiate complex commercial agreements, and own revenue targets for high-growth businesses.
Key Competencies and Attributes
Commercial Acumen: Strong ownership of revenue and partner performance; proficiency in financial modeling.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to position the platform at the center of the global merchant-bank-fintech ecosystem.
Execution-Driven: A seasoned operator comfortable selling innovative financial technology to conservative enterprise stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving structure in evolving markets with high integrity.
Results Orientation: An ownership mentality with a track record of closing high-value deals that drive measurable impact.
