Looking to hire an IXD Co-op Student? ICTC Funding Can Help

ICTC funding is now available for 3rd year co-op students from Sheridan’s renowned interaction design (IXD) program. WIL Digital stands for Work-Integrated Learning Digital, and is a national program funded by the Government of Canada to support employers in Canada’s Digital Economy who are increasing student placements within targeted high-demand industries, including: Entertainment & Gaming, Cybersecurity,
Clean Technology, Connected Transportation, e-Health, Intelligent Retail, Financial Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.

Eligible companies hiring eligible students can receive a wage subsidy of up to 50% (capped at $5,000) or 70% (capped at $7,000) at the end of 4 months. Applications are evaluated based on the company’s eligibility, position description and student eligibility. You can apply here.

Wages for WIL Digital placements offered to eligible students who also identify as being part of one of the following underrepresented groups are subsidized at 70% of wages (capped at $7,000):

  • women studying in STEM programs,
  • indigenous students,
  • recent immigrants (last 5 years),
  • persons with disabilities and
  • first-year students.
